Released as successor to Game Boy, featuring color display and twice the processing power. Could display up to 56 colors simultaneously from a palette of 32,768. Discontinued in 2003. Combined with original Game Boy sold 118.69 million units worldwide. Best-selling game was Pokemon Gold and Silver with 23 million units.
